Neoliberalism and the smokescreen of 'mental health'

In May 2022, our showcase came from Dr Anne Darcy, Psychologists for Social Change.

Anne is a Specialist Clinical Psychologist who has worked in mental health services for 18 years and is a member of Psychologists for Social Change NI.

Anne gave us an introduction to a critical community psychology approach to thinking about Neo-liberalism and informing policy and community groups on achieving social change and community well-being. She provided a summary of the Psychologists for Social Change white paper on the psychological impact of austerity and the Power Threat Meaning Framework pattern on impacts of wealth inequality on wellbeing and the structural barriers to living well.
